Apple Warranty Types

Apple offers several levels of protection - from free warranty to full coverage including theft protection

Free Apple technical support - 90 days from the purchase date.

AppleCare+paid

Extended protection that can be purchased within 60 days of buying the device. Extends manufacturing defect coverage and adds accidental damage protection - cracked screen, body damage, water damage. A fixed service fee is charged per incident.

Plans: one-time payment for 2 or 3 years, or monthly subscription (unlimited duration while you pay). Up to 2 incidents of accidental damage every 12 months.

How to Check Warranty

Several ways to find out the coverage status of an Apple device

01

Via iSpy Bot

Send the serial number or IMEI to @ispyware_bot. The report will include: activation date, warranty status, AppleCare availability, coverage end date, purchase country. Also available via >> Check on Website.

02

On the Device

Open Settings → General → About. If the warranty is active, the coverage expiration date will be shown. For AppleCare+: Settings → General → About → Coverage.

03

Via GSX Report

For the most detailed information, order a GSX via the bot. GSX will show: exact activation date, warranty end date, AppleCare type, repair history, remaining AppleCare+ incidents, and original purchase country.

Coverage Statuses

What warranty check results mean

Active - warranty active

The device is under warranty. Manufacturing defects are covered for free. If AppleCare+ is active, accidental damage is also covered. The end date is shown in the report.

Expired - warranty expired

The warranty has ended. Repairs and replacements are at full cost only. AppleCare+ can be purchased within 60 days of device purchase, but not after expiration.

AppleCare+ Active

Extended protection is active. Covers manufacturing defects and accidental damage. Check the remaining incidents - up to 2 every 12 months.

Purchase Date Not Validated

Apple cannot confirm the purchase date. Usually means the device was activated but not registered in the system (e.g., parallel import). Warranty is calculated from the activation date.

Out of Coverage - no coverage

The device is not covered by any plan. Reasons: expired, device was repaired by an unauthorized service, unauthorized modification.

Warranty & Used Devices

What to know about warranty when buying on the secondary market

Warranty transfers automatically. Apple's Limited Warranty and AppleCare are tied to the device, not the person. When buying used, you get the remaining coverage period without any additional steps.

Check before buying. A seller may claim "warranty until 2027," but it may already be expired. Always verify yourself via @ispyware_bot - the report will show the exact date.

Apple-refurbished devices receive a new 1-year warranty from the purchase date. Unofficially refurbished devices do not. Check the Warranty Types: F = officially refurbished.

Unauthorized repair may void Apple warranty. If the device was opened or has non-genuine replacement parts, Apple will deny warranty service. Check the "Parts and Service" section in settings (iPhone 15+) or via GSX.
